hey all, Currently I'm running a 12mhz 286 system with an ST296N on an ST-02 SCSI adapter. I'm pretty happy with it, as Coretest reports a transfer rate of 805Kb/s, and an access time of 27.5ms. However, it looks like I could get a good price on an Adaptec SCSI controller, and was wondering if it would be worth it. Does anyone have the above configuration with the Adaptec controller (ie, 12mhz 286 w/ST296N)? What kind of data rates are you getting? over 1mb/sec? I have no intention of running UNIX, so that is not an issue. I'm just curious if the DOS performance of my drive will be that much better with the Adaptec.
