Hello one and all,
I am considering purchasing a 386 machine. Having had a look through BYTE and
PC World I came across an ad for Gateway machines. These seemed to be very
competitively priced with a considerable amount of hardware thrown in, ie.
4 Mb of RAM, 3.5" and 5.25" disc drives, 80 Mb Hard disc, VGA monitor +
card (512k RAM), DOS and Windows 3.0 to mention a few.
If you have had experience with Gateway or their machines I would very much
like to hear (or see :-)) your views on them and the machines. I would be
particularly interested to hear from people in England since this is where
I live. Do they have a toll free number? What's the after sales service like?
How long is the machine under guarantee for parts and labour? Do they have an
office in the UK?
