Whatever happened to it??
In response to the question about a "practically deserted"
stretch of beach, I checked my "World Guide to Nude Beaches and
Recreation" by Lee Baxandall. (This is the 1981 edition so may not
be wholly up-to-date. A new edition is scheduled to be published
any time now.) Also, this is straight from the book, so I have
no personal experience to rely on.
Nassau: Paradise Island
Paradise Island is easily reached from the Nassau waterfront by
a glass-bottomed water taxi. Walk 1/2 mile across (north) to Paradise
Public Beach, then left (west), past a topless Club Med beach for
another 3/4 mile. Clamber over a rockfill - wear tennis shoes - and
1/8 mile further around a bend is the free beach. It extends 3/4
mile. Visitors have had no problems.gordon (04/02/83)

And, being one of the more northerly cities, it is not too far away. To get there, first go to Marsh Harbor. Then either a rent a boat for the duration(which is fun by itself)or take a water taxi to Hope Town. Getting to Marsh Harbor is a few minutes by air from Florida... For info, write VERNON'S STORE, HOPE TOWN, BAHAMA ISLANDS. Belive it or not, it will get there. Vernon runs the store and the house rental agency....
