I am planning my grand trip for this summer. So far, the route (by car) includes: start at Chapel Hill, North Carolina via Pittsburgh, PA (business) to Columbus, Ohio (visit friends) across interstate 80 to Boulder, Colorado (more friends) across Colorado on US40 (through Steamboat Springs) to Salt Lake City, Utah north to The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and then Babb, Montana (Glacier Park) into Canada for Banff, Alberta (Jasper Park) west to Vancouver, BC and Victoria, BC from there, maybe a cruise to Alaska. Now that you are remembering all the fun times you have had in these places, please send me mail! Where are the nice places to stay? I tend to like to rent a small cabin, rather than either camp or stay in a lodge, but unfortunately most of the travel services are set up for the latter. I fondly remember renting a cabin on Jenny Lake in the Tetons three years ago :-) If you do know of a particularly nice place to camp or a lodge that is not to be missed, tell me about them anyway. Especially want info about the Canadian Rockies, and about good boat trips to Alaska, since those are the only places on this trip I have not been to before. Any other information (by mail) would be appreciated too. Thanks, Wm Leler - UNC Chapel Hill decvax!duke!unc!wm
