I have this problem with my Gateway 2000 monitor when running Windows at 1024x768 mode. When I overlap two windows, the overlapped areas becomes either darker or lighter than their default colors. Here's a graphical representation of the problem: Monitor Screen +---------------------------------------+ 1. this lower portion of the | | window A is much lighter than | +------------------+ | the rest of window A | | | background | | | | grey | 2. this upper portion of window | | window A w/ blue| | B is much darker than than the | | color | | rest of window B |- -| - - - - -+------------------+ - - | |3. | 1. | 2. | 3. | 3. these two areas are much |- -+----------| - - - - - - - - | - - | lighter than the rest of the | | | | background. | | window B w/ red | | | | | | | +------------------+ | note that the problem doesn't | | occur when windows don't overlap. | | +---------------------------------------+ I first thought it was a problem with the monitor, but the replacement gave me the same result. Gateway's technician argued that it was due to the fact that my monitor is interlaced at 1024x768 and further stressed that other interlaced monitors have the same effect.(so, unless I got a non-intelacedmonitor, the problem can't be not fixed). But I don't believe this. Is there any of you having the same problem as mine? Is my monitor exhibiting normal behavior? I would really appreciate your answers. Anyways, here is the configuration I have: 386-25 with 4 meg, no co-processor ATI wonder with 512K Gateway Crystal Screen 1024 (actually, it's a Tatung 1498x). windows 3.0 dos 4.01 ATI windows drivers 2.1&2.2 80Meg IDE mouse, modem, no printer. would the graphics card have anything to do with this?
