[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Value of an XT?

semaurik@dahlia.waterloo.edu (Sean Maurik) (12/10/90)

Hi there, I'm considering selling my XT but want to know what
kind of price I can expect to get for it before deciding. I've seen
similair systems posted for about 5 or 6 hundred..what do you think of
the value of this..

		Generic XT clone..MBXT-121 Turbo Motherboard
4.77 & 10 MHz both software and hardware setable
		8 expansion slots
		640 K on board
		Pheonix ROM BIOS
Game Card (Real Time Clock..Com 1 Port etc)
30 Mg 50 msc access Hard Drive
		3 1/2" 20 K floppy
		5 1/4" 260 K floppy (needs to be fixed)
CGA card and monitor (DataTrain DC-205SA)
		101-Key Keyboard
10-15 Megs of PD software collected over the years

The sytem is very study..the board is in a solid metal case which
can simply be flipped opened by pushing in tabs..no screwdriver or maps
required. The Turbo and Reset buttons are conveniently located at the
front not hidden in some hard to get at corner. The problem with the
5 1/4" drive is probably small..I think it just died from lack of use, I
use the 3 1/2" almost exclusively so the 5 1/4 may just need a good cleaning
or a re-alignment I really don't know.

So what would you pay for this sytem. I even have the original
boxes and packing foam!
