I'm looking for a way to speed up my Amstrad 2086, I've considered a maths co-processor but someone said that they didn't have much effect on XT's. My machine is currently running at 8MHz but I am also intrested in any sort of add-on cards that would take it's speed up to that of a 386sx if possible. I would also consider buying a new mother board for the machine but would only do so if it was cost efficient and fully compatible with all my software. At the moment I'm using Windows 2.03 and would like to upgrade to windows 3 but judging from the magazine reviews it is hardly worth it unless you have at least a 286 machine with extended memory, so any improvements would have to be compatible with windows. Thanks in advance. Phill. Steele. ______________________________________________________________________________ Phillip.C.Steele n1z6g@uk.ac.ncl.turing Newcastle Uni.
