Dear Usenetusers, I have a problem with my internal modem, and I hope some of you can give me a hand. I bought this EPIC TECHNOLOGY 1200 baud internal modem from a store with a good price because it does not have a manual with it. After some time of playing with its dip switch setting, I configured it to be COM1. However, rest of the other serial ports in the computer are disabled. Therefore, I really need to know what each dip switch stands for. If anyone is using the same type of modem, could you send me a mail to cchen@unixg.ubc.ca to tell me the correct dip switch setting. It is a 6-position dip switch. One other strange thing about my modem is that when I bought it, I was told it was a 1200 baud modem. However, I found I can use it as a 2400 baud modem and it has not given me any trouble at all. Is it possible to push a 1200 baud modem behind its designed limits? or Is it just because I am lucky? Helps to my problems are deeply appreciated... mail address: cchen@unixg.ubc.ca
