[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Wanted: VCR tape backup interface

mark@perle.UUCP (Mark Woodward) (12/05/90)

Does anyone know if the PC interface to use a VCR as a tape backup
is still in production? I think a company called AUTOFAX produced it about
2 years ago.
If it's not still in production has anyone got a working one they'd
wish to sell?
I'd also like to hear some comments on the beasty, I believe it
was very reliable and could store 110 megs on a T120 at 1 Meg/min.

	Thanks,

I saw it in the PC Connection Catalog for $99. The Catalog number #
was 8117. Their phone number is 1-800-243-8088. I would also like
to know how well this works. I've got a spare VCR and this would
be a cheap way to back up my system if it is reliable.

I don't know what kind of system you are looking at adding
a vcr backup too, but I know that Tandy still sells them. They are
pc compatible, but wheter 8 or 16 bit bus, I don't know. Could you
post more data on what you are hooking up too?
