[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Expansion slots in a Tandy 1000TX

andrem@pyrman2.pyramid.com (Andre Molyneux) (12/29/90)

I'm looking for information on the expansion slots inside of a Tandy 1000TX.
I've already posted a request to "comp.sys.tandy" and have received a few
hints on magazines to look at, but have yet to get the answers I'm looking
for.

Basically, I'm trying to find out if the slots in this puppy are standard
slots or Tandy-specific slots. If they are standard, are they 8-bit or
16-bit slots (the machine is running off of a 286 but I was once told that
due to its design it is only an XT clone). I'm hoping to be able to plug
in a third-party hard disk controller and to upgrade the graphics (the
built-in adapter is CGA).

If you can shed any light on this subject (neither the manual nor the local
Radio Shack has been any help whatsoever) please e-mail me as I don't regularly subscribe to this newsgroup.

Thanks in advance
