Hi folks! Since everyone on the network has been so helpful to me in the past, I thought I would try again. I recently was paid in advance for a consulting job, and so finally have the money to make the long-awaited upgrade from my old tried and true XT to a new 386sx. I just want to buy the motherboard--I have all the other hardware and it's all completely transferable with the exception of my controller cards for the floppy and hard drives. Would anyone care to offer suggestions as to mail order vendors, advantages of certain chipsets or bios'es over others, manufacturers to avoid at all costs, and so forth? Please keep in mind that I would also like to run a version of Unix (Coherent or Minix) on this machine. I would greatly appreciate the advice and expertise of those who have gone through this experience before me. Please E-Mail to me--volume of this newsgroup is too great for me to read everyday... Thank you! *-----------------------------------------------------------------------------* * Charles R. (C. R.)
