Has anyone write program for 640x400x256 color VGA mode? There are many cards with their own 640x400x256 mode (requires only 256k). I use the Paradise card's. How different is it from the other VGA card's? The way Paradise is addressed is by a video register that can map the address A0000 to AFFFF to any of the four 64k video pages or use of 2 video registers to map 32k pages (as in case of memory transfer from one part of video to another). How does other VGA 640x400x256 mode being accessed? Anybody's written any action game with the VGA mode? Screen update problem speed-wise? (too many pixel)? E. Teng Ong (ong@d.cs.okstate.edu)
