Hi! I'm new to this notesgroup and need some help. I just "inherited" an old XT clone and the hard drive has gone belly-up. I am looking to replace the hard drive with something in the 30-60 Mb range. I would like the controller/ drive to be compatible with a future motherboard upgrade. Now to my specific questions: 1) How reliable are drives from: Seagate, Maxtor, Toshiba? 2) Where can i get information about the different drive types (MFM, RLL, IDE, SCSI ...)? 3) Are bundled kits usually better than trying to buy the parts separately? 4) Does anybody have any burning opnions (avoid at all costs, buy at all costs)? Since this is probibly not of real general intrest, e-mail me and I will summarize to the net. -------------------------- David Burgess hpspkla.spk.hp.com Telnet: 921-3618 Bell: (509) 921-3618
