Some not-very-computer-literate friends have a Mac and Laserwriter and have just acquired a DOS box as well. They understandably want to use the DOS box to talk to the Laserwriter. What's the best way to do this? The DOS machine is about 80 feet away from the laser. A DOS Appletalk connection seems ideal if it could be done cheaply. Otherwise a serial cable is possible, though klunky. (Having to change the setting on the Laserwriter by hand, I think; at least the older ones are that way.) Is there any other possibility? They're not in the position to spend a lot of money. Please respond by e-mail, and I'll summarize if there's interest. -- Mark McWiggins Integration Technologies, Inc.
