   I've got numerous replies regarding my questions about upgrading to 386 from286.  All of them suggest that I could use my 8 bit card on 16 bit slot.....

   Sure enough it works..... THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!

You can plug an 8 bit card into a 16 bit slot. As long as there are enough
slots for all your cards, you are okay.

Microway (508) 746-7341 makes one. $500 for the 16MHz version. $600 for
the 20MHz version.
