Greetings. For you hardware hackers, out there: Is it possible to set up a SVGA (or just VGA) card to just update the monitor from the video ram and have another board directly write to the VGA's on-board RAM? From the replies I got about the 26-pin card edge connector, I have given up using that... I want to make a board that will update a VGA's memory without having to go through the "famous" AT buss to do it. Ie. calculate things using a coprocessor(s) board and pipe the output to a VGA card. Does anyone know if that is possible? I don't mind "snow" but it would be nice to not have it. For example, keep track of the RAS and the H-synch and update the VGA ram only at appropriate times. Anyone? Take care. Please use e-mail. I will archive. Please give it a few days before sending the "me too" :-) -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name: Karol Gieszczykiewicz Address: kwgst@unix.cis.pitt.edu This message posted for: Filip Gieszczykiewicz (fmgst@unix.cis.pitt.edu)
