I'm currently trying to correct a few video problems on a friend's old Leading Edge Model "D", before it is given to relatives as a first computer. Since the L.E. monochrome monitor is having problems, I decided to check out the color port using a Sony KV-1311CR, with its digital RGB port (weird connector), using a cable that I happened to have, that has the right connectors on the ends (see below). I got beautiful color, but there is flashing when the screen is scrolled, like it's not updating video during vertical retrace. The horizontal flashes (black) appear at different vertical positions each time. With Norton Commander, which has two directory panels in the upper half of the screen, I get flashing within the panels as the directory scrolls. Any ideas on getting rid of the flashing? Is the cable wiring correct? (I believe it is). Wiring of color cable: L.E. color Sony output TTL - RGB DB9 connector --- --------- 1 ----------------- 5 ground 2 ----------------- 6 ground 3 ----------------- 2 red input 4 ----------------- 3 green input 5 ----------------- 4 blue input 6 ----------------- 1 intensity input 7 8 ----------------- 7 H. sync input 9 ----------------- 8 V. sync input Thanx for any help you may be able to give! - MJB - USENET: mjb@cup.portal.com
