we have 10 8514 ps2 monitors that are 2 yrs. old. within the past 4-6 wks. four of them have begun to snap, crackle,& pop on startup the display flickers back & forth. once warmed up they seem ok except for one that eventually died. that was the first one to display the problem and we expect the rest to follow shortly. ibm's cure - bring them in and we will replace for $1040 ea. seeing as how we only paid $900+ (edu. price) that didn't seem like such a deal. we feel pretty sure that the problem is relatively minor - power supply/capacitor or some such. we need to find someplace that we can trust to repair them. prefer some one on the research triangle area (for convenience) but would like suggestions any where in usa.
