We are thinking of setting up an ARCNET LAN between 4 computers, does anybody knows how the physical wiring goes? I found an ARCNET card "dtk" at $69 each. It has a BNC connector. I got the following questions: Does all ARCNET card uses BNC connector? What is a BNC T-connector? What is it used for? What is BNC terminator? What is it used for? What kind of wire do you use for BNC connector? How much are you paying for (per feet or yard)? What is a passive HUB for ARCNET? What is an network active HUB? Any advise on do-our-own installation? (Please do not say that we should get someone who knows, we can't afford it!) I know briefly how Ethernet works, how does ARCNET differs? Thanks in advance. E. Teng Ong (ong@d.cs.okstate.edu)
