Hi there, I have an old WD 100? HD and FD controller (? 1 or 2) and would like to upgrade to a newer conroller which can also drive 1.44 MB FD. I was looking at the wd1006 an AT MFM HD controller with an interleave of 1:1. If anybody out there has experience with this or other MFM controllers I would like to hear about this. Has anybody heard about the wd1008 controller ? Thanks for your help Thomas

I'm running a 1006V, which is a more recent version of the 1006. I currently support Xenix/386, ISC UNIX, and (when I have to) DOS. Never a problem. My system (a NEC 386/20) runs a 1.44 floppy off an embedded controller, but (assuming your BIOS supports such floppies) the version of the 1006V with floppy support should work fine. ----------------- uunet!media!ka3ovk!raysnec!shwake shwake@rsxtech
