ATI EGA Wonder card documentation gives switch settings for the card to allow the Wonder card to peacefully coexist with an "MDA" card. Is this also suitable for use with a Hercules mono card? I assumed so and set this up in my 286 machine. All seemed to function fine. DOS MODE command seemed to toggle appropriately between cards. MODE MONO went to the Hercules card. MODE CO80 switched back to the EGA Wonder card (on which I had set switches to indicate a TTL mono monitor being used). I simply plugged my mono monitor into the selected card, and it seemed to work. THEN, while on the EGA card, I ran a program using Hercules graphics WITHOUT first issuing the MODE MONO command to switch to Hercules card. Well, I fried my IBM monochrome monitor...the display went dark... the smell of burnt windings arose from somewhere within its bowels... Dismay arose from somewhere deep within mine... What am I likely to have done wrong? What is likely to have been zapped in the monitor? Am I likely to be able to repair it? Thanks for any help (And for reading this far). _____________________________________________________________________________ Bob Davis, UofALA alum \\ INTERNET: sonny@trantor.harris-atd.com | _ _ | Harris Corporation, ESS \\ UUCP: ...!uunet!x102a!trantor!sonny |_| |_| | | Advanced Technology Dept.\\ AETHER: K4VNO |==============|_/\/\/\|_| PO Box 37, MS 3A/1912 \\ VOICE: (407) 727-5886 | I SPEAK ONLY | |_| |_| | Melbourne, FL 32902 \\ FAX: (407) 729-2537 | FOR MYSELF. |_________|
