I'm interested in PC repair, but the biggest problem I've encountered has been installing hardware for which the user lacks documentation. For instance, if you want to install a harddrive controller card, you have to know the jumper positions required for the specific harddrive, etc, etc. What I'm curious about is if there is some general reference or collection of sourcebooks which would contain information needed for setting up and servicing many of the various devices on the market. It seems reasonable that something like this would exist, because some of the larger pc repair companies are able to configure hardware from so many different manufacturers. Writing to each manufacture would be quite a task - and I'm not sure they would be willing to provide the information on all of their products free of charge. Any suggestions? Thanks, Randy
