now that we settled the Paris ice cream shop issue, let's move on to Firenze. i remember a shop call Vivolies (sp?) that had fantastic gelati. it was near a music club called the Red Garter. i'm sure they are still in existence although it was six years ago that i was there. the place was a big hangout for foreigners. also, i heard of a Vivolies in Calif. is there any connection ? did they buy the recipies ? Jeff (eagle!jeff) at Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ wrote about ice cream in Firenze (Florence, Italy) Vivoli's has become quite a tourist stop. It has the same ownership as the new Vivoli's in Berkeley CA. The place I really liked was Galli's, near the Ponte Vecchio. Ciao! Gordon
