One of our users has an IBM PS/2 Model 50 (Not a 50Z). He says that it has never kept accurate time, always loosing or gaining at rapid rates. When the computer was new, another user in his area indicated that this was a bug of some type in the model 50 and installed a patch that corrected the problem. At that time, he was using PC-DOS 3.x. He recently upgraded his system to PC-DOS 4.01. In the process he forgot about and erased the patch that fixed his clock problem. No one in our shop knows about any such clock problem in the model 50. Does anyone have any ideas or info about this? Problem number two: This same user, in an attempt to fix the problem himself, copied a file called clock$ from a friends computer. I should say he attempted to copy. His friend's computer would not let him. However, after making an attempt to copy this file, his friends computer no longer keeps time correctly. Now, the user has done what he should have originally and come to us to fix both problems. Any info, help, or suggestions would be appreciated. None of us have experience with the 50, only the 50Z. And we have had such few breakdowns from all our PS/2's that there is much we have not yet encountered. Thanks in advance for the help!
