I'm going to take advantage of the Wein Air Alaksa unlimited mileage fare to Alaska. (Pay $580 starting in Seattle and fly to any of 20 cities in Alaska on a fly-when-you-feel-like-it basis for 29 days max.) A number of major cities and small towns are on the "permitted" list. My questions are: 1. Anybody been to Nome or Barrow and is it worth it? 2. Where can you camp in these places? 3. Any hints on visiting the Mt. McKinley area? 4. Is Kodiak worth seeing? 5. Any hints on sightseeing in Anchorage or Fairbanks? 6. Any MUST SEE villages or sights? 7. Any ideas on ground transportation? 8. Is the Anchorage-Fairbanks train worthwhile? Any info would be greatly appreciated. You can reply by the net OR if you've got a LOT of information I'd like to phone you and discuss things. Send me your phone number. If you want, call me (a quick 25-cent phone call) then I'll call you right. John Kirby Tektronix, Beaverton, OR (503)629-1735 Work (503)641-3458 Home
