	Visiting Amsterdam: 5 great cheap hotels

WESTERTOREN HOTEL, Raadhuisstraat 35B, 3 canals and 6 streets southwest
		of Central Station. 30 guilders/person/night.
	(also close by, GALERIJ, RONNIE, or PAX)
HOTEL PRINSENHOF, Prinsengracht, ( near the Opera House and the Heineken
		brewery ).  35 g/p/n
CHRISTIAN YOUTH HOSTEL "Eben Haezer", 179 Bloemstraat.  near the corner
		of Maxnixstraat and Rozengracht, 15 minutes walk from 
		Central Station, of 5 minutes by No 17 streetcar.
		dormitory bed is 11 g/n, dinner 8 g.
THE VONDELPARK, at 5 Zandpad, close to Vondel Park and Rijksmuseum
		is even cheaper and a great bargain because of its central
		location.

bed and breakfast are the choice of many travelers, and can be found all
over Europe. one reference is to the SLOOP-family renting rooms for 25 years.
their house overlooks a windmill at Willem de Zwijgerlaan 353, (tel 841166).
No 21 bus goes there from the Central Station. rates 26 g/p/n including
breakfast (like most places in Europe).

H. Rikkers, Iepenlaan 16, Volendam (tel 02993 - 63993 ) cost 17 g.

a conventional Amsterdam Hotel is the:
THE ARCO	42 Jan Luykenstraat (tel 725538) has 160 large, well-
	furnished rooms, at 30 g. including breakfast.
	dormitory rooms are only 24 g.
