I have an interesting if somewhat bizzare problem. I have just been give a very old seagate harddrive. Its an st213 a 10 meg drive. However looking closely at it I spotted that the pc-board is labeled st225 This board is for a 20 meg drive, I have tried several low level formatters. While they step the stepper, they of course get stuck when trying to find cylinders, is there anyway possible to format the drive in this condition? Any answers (apart from throw it in the trash) greatly appreciated. ATC@waikato.ac.nz
