[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Problems with Felix

Has anybody out there experienced any problems with Felix? This is a
pointing device that use with your pointer finger and, according to the
manufacturers,LightGate, is suppose to be superior to the typical mouse.
Well, I bought the gimmick and the thing. It plugs into the serial
port, like a mouse, and requires its own unique drivers when you run an
application.
When I run its drivers, the device runs into a few probems. My
machine seems to slow down. When I ask for a listing of my directory,
the lines scrolling speed decreases dramatically. Although my machine
happens to be an XT-class machine I have never seen it scroll so slow.
The drivers even renders my modem, which is a 9600 baud DOV,absolutely
useless. Words appear on the screen about one every 2 to 3 secones.
When I run there MOUSE program at the prompt ,which I shouldn't
according the manufacturer, some of the problems disappear, like the
slow scrolling but I still have the slow-com port problems.
My configuration is: a PS/2 Model 30 with a hard disk and two com
ports( one for Felix[com1] and the other for my modem[com3]). Both
ports seem to work fine when I use my Logitech mouse. My config.sys
file contains only FILES and BUFFERS and my AUTOEXEC.BAT has the
standard PATH, PROMPT and ECHO OFF commands.
I think it is just the software but does anybody got any other ideas?

   Thanks in advance,
   Ke-Wei Ma
