[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Using "Reserved" memory

dhosek@freke.claremont.edu (Don Hosek) (02/11/91)

Is it possible to get access to the top 384K of Ram in the first
Meg with the following combination:

Phoenix 386 BIOS
Micronics 386/25 ASIC cache motherboard

(for those of you who care, it's a Micro Express Regal II
machine, as if that would mean anything to most of you).

At present, the memory is identified as "reserved" and I'd like
to be able to use that RAM for EMS.

On another count, does anyone have any idea why 4DOS isn't
spotting the 4M of Ram I have on the M710 expansion board?

            line saying send [DIRECTORY]FILENAME
where DIRECTORY is the FTP directory (sans "anonymous") and
FILENAME is the filename, e.g. "send [tex]00readme.txt". There is
a list of files in each directory under the name 00files.txt
Binary files are not available by this technique.
