Redwood National Park, in N. Cal. is one long traffic jam. In my opinion it's not worth it unless you intend to get off the road and into the forest. It seems to be mile after mile of campers all going 30mph. However, there are other redwoods around. The Avenue of the Giants about five hours N of SF off of Rt101 is a good example of redwoods. There are some in Muir Woods. Up along the coast of California they sell redwood burls like they're going out of style (N of Ft. Bragg). Actually, they seem to be all over.
