I've just added another 4M of 70ns DRAMs to my 32 BIT card on my AMI 386 25Mhz /64k Cache Motherboard. Set the switches for 8M on the memory card and rebooted. Bios only recognized the first 4M (as expected). Rebooted to getthe Bios to reconize the 8M, then went into the Bios Setup to "burn" the new info in. If I then turn off for a short while and come back, system boots ok. If I wait at least 6 hours the Bios doesn't recognize the 8M, just the original 4M. Have to repeat the double boot and burn each time. The Dallas Real Time Clock battery is OK. The AMI ROM BIOS is an old 043089 version (awaiting 040990 Version) which has a timing problem (IDE Drives) but appears to be hold- ing the data ok, so I don't believe it is the problem. It acts like a floating pin problem, which I will be looking into. Has anyone out there had similar problems resetting their system to a higher memory count, I'd like to hear from you. I've run memory tests with CheckIt with no problems, so memory is ok. Thanks in advance, Chuck Reichert KD9JQ E-Mail direct or 708-358-3827 Home after 8PM CST, 708-632-6669 Work
