A friend of mine has a Packard Bell PB 500 XT-compatible with 2 5.25" 360k drives (he's had it about a year), and now wants to upgrade one of the 5.25"'s to a 3.5". We called the dealer and he said the drive should just fit in place of the old 5.25" drive, and the 3.5" should work with his old card, but my question is, has anyone else had a PB 500 or similar model and upgraded to a 3.5"? He's looking at a Tobisha 1440k drive, but I've heard the card may not be able to handle that big of a drive, and also that we may have to upgrade the ROM on the card. Myself, I don't know much about PC hardware (I'm an Apple person myself, and I realize that by saying that here I might as well hand out kerosine and matches), but my friend knows even less. Responses are prefered e-mail, but I will check up on this feed again in a few days. Any help is greatly appreciated. Joe -- Jeff Kolesar kolesar@plains.nodak.edu "Choosy mothers choose GIF"
