[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] SCSI based High Capacity Floppy source wanted

Harvey_Taylor@mindlink.UUCP (Harvey Taylor) (02/13/91)

    I have seen SCSI based floppies which write 720K, 1.44M & 2.88M
advertised for the Next. I have heard that Teac makes such a drive.
Does anybody know who else makes such drives?
Does anybody know a good source for these drives?

"I believe it is terribly important to extend to these new digital media
the same strong First Amendment protections of freedom of speech and
freedom of expression which we enjoy in our own lives and in the print
media. The government should not be able to seize a bulletin board any
more easily than they can seize a printing press." -Mitch Kapor

I have a Konica drive that reads/writes 10MB servo-written 5.25" floppies.
This has an SCSI board included. Cost in Holland is ~ fl 1200, so I
guess that they would be about $400 in the U.S. I got mine for about half
that through the Dutch Hobby Computer Club. Any Dutch people reading this
check the latest HCC Nieuwsbrief.

Note that the floppies themselves are rather expensive.
