[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Lock up on Micronics 386/25

mwizard@eecs.cs.pdx.edu (Craig Nelson) (02/15/91)

Don't know if anyone out there has the same problem, but I own a
Micronics 386/25 running MS DOS 4.01 (I know, should use MACH instead). An
interesting problem arrises at random times during extensive keyboard
operation. In applications like video games (or when I really feel like
flying on the typing) the machine begins setting off alarms left and right,
and stops everything, and I mean everything. When this happens pressing the
reset button will cause a reboot of the system, but it never makes it past
the opening screen, forcing me to reach for big red. I think it is a problem
with the shadow bios, but would like as much input as you folks are willing
to throw my direction.
