An earlier posting mentioned a possible incompatibility between Conner IDE 100MB drive and 486 OPTI chipset motherboards. I've had such problems but in checking it out discovered exactly the same problem with a totally different motherboard. So perhaps its not the motherboard after all. Has anyone out there successfully used a Conner CP-344 104 MB drive on a 486 without any problems. Has anyone else had problems?

I'm not sure, but the problem could have something to do with the fact that your 100Mb CP-344 is only a 40Mb hard drive according to the instructions that came with my Connor. Maybe that could be the problem, you have it set for the wrong size in your setup program. CP-344 ------ Heads: 4 Cylinders: 805 Sectors/Track: 26 Size: 40 Mb I hope this helps... I use a Connor 100meg as my lab drive - I would surely notice if there were any problems with our 486s! I assume you mean the CP-3104, not 344. -- James R.
