I have a very wierd question. I've had a 386 computer for about 4 months. Every now and then, when I turn it on, the computer beeps several times and will refuse to boot up. Sometimes when I hit the reset button it will boot up normally, other times it has no effect. Once it starts working, it works fine until it's powered down. The computer is mounted on the floor on it's side. I've recently found that when this happens, if I lean the computer to it's normal position and hit the reset switch, it boots up fine. If I don't lean it down, it continues to have the error. I've tried reseating the SIMMs but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've called the company and they say it is a memory problem, but they're not sure exactly what the problem is. I really don't want to ship it back for something like this. Has this type of problem happened to anyone before?

Did you do a low-level format with the computer on its side? This is what was recommended by ZEOS if you were going to use one of their machines on its side. Scott Linn
