Is there some kind of kit you can use to convert an internal hard drive
to an external one? I have a situation where a second machine serves
only as a backup, and would use the same data as the primary machine.
Backing up/restoring on tape is a pain in the ass, particularly since the
data is constantly changing. It would be better if I could just swap
cables.
If there is no such thing, I would appreciate pointers on good external
hard drives of around 150 meg capacity and up, pref. ST506 interface
so I can keep using the existing controllers (unless they come with
their own hard & floppy drive controller).
That brings up a question: Do drives advertised as MFM and RLL always
have ST506 interface? Advertisers seem to mix-and-match when using
acronyms for encoding schemes and for interfaces. sigh... confusion...
(Life was so much easier when I only worried about software bugs!)
Thanx
