[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] AMI/SUNLOGIX 32 bit bus memory card

pcg@cs.aber.ac.uk (Piercarlo Grandi) (02/23/91)

I am the fortunate owner of an AMI designed, SUNLOGIX manufactured XT
sized motherboard, with a 20Mhz 386 and 64KB cache; the model name is
"SL-386XT".

I'd like to buy a 32 bit memory card for this motherboard; I currently
have the 2MB 32 bit memory card. I'd like a source for the 8MB piggyback
card and/or the 8MB base card (especially if I can trade in for some
value the 2MB 32 bit populated card I have currently), unpopulated or
populated with 4MB. Even, actually preferably, a used one (given the
traditional constrainsts of a tight postgrad budget :->).

These 32 bit cards are the same for a large number of AMI designed and
licensed motherboard designs, and they have an 80 pin connector plus a
62 pin connector. A SUNLOGIX brand card is not essential, any card will
do that is designed to the specs of the AMI 32 bit expansion bus ( I do
not know whether that is comaptible with any of the others, like the
Intel one).

Please e-mail, I will summarize replies in one or two weeks.

Note: I would be overjoyed if there were a suitable 32 bit base card
that used SIMMs or SIPs and not 1Mbit DIPs, and could be expanded to
16MB (dreaming here :->) without a piggyback.
