[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] tape drive recommendations

I want to thank everyone who responded to my inquiry about backup tape
drives for my 150 meg drive. Most people recommended the Colorado Memory
Systems Jumbo 60 meg. However, I decided to purchase the ArchiveXL 80.
This drive can back up a full 120 meg on one tape uncompressed. Although
Colordo advertises 120 meg with compression, I would not get this capacity
with my file mixture. 120 meg is plenty for me to back up my entire drive
on one tape (as long as I can keep 30 meg free :-).

I got the drive through Gateway 2000 where I bought my original system.
It arrived 3 days after placing the order with everything I needed to
install. Price: $295 including cables and an adapter card to handle
2 existing floppy drives. It was easy to install, and the backup
software is very easy to use. I would recommend it to anyone with
a similar need.

A follow on question is where is a good place to order inexpensive DC2120
tapes? Gateway charges $20 for pre-formated 120 meg 3M tapes. Are
unformated tapes cheaper?
