[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Gatway Service

neil@ms.uky.edu (Neil Greene) (02/25/91)

Just to mention how I feel about Gateway's service. I have contacted this
company several times, concerning parts, and each time, the service has been
more than repretable (sp?). New parts have arrived over night.

To anyone out there with Gateway that sees this, thanks for the service.

I also must agree, I got my new motherboard next day fedex...

  B U T H E R E I S T H E C A T C H .....

The reason why I needed a new motherboard was the fact that my "25Mhz 386"
system was really a 20Mhz. Intresting, I paid for a 25Mhz, my invoice says I
have a 25Mhz, but my 'build sheet' has 20Mhz checked, and sure enough, I have a
20Mhz board.

WHY WAS I SO STUPID TO NOT CHECK THIS FIRST??
because when your invoice says 25Mhz and Norton SysInfo reports that it is a
25Mhz, you seem to take the word. Unfortunately, I have a 20Mhz system that
has a 25Mhz clock. 7 months later, I get a new motherboard. I was lucky,
you may not be. They almost didn't send me a replacement.

just a warning....

btw- I got the new board, but no docs. Carl, the tech supervisor, WILL NOT
return my calls. (and I mean callS)
