After upgrading my 286 mother board to a 386/25, the 10MB removable SyQuest drive doesn't work anymore. The 70 MB fixed disk, however, is not affected. Whenever I try to write to the 10MB, I'd get a seek error. Through experiment, I found this only happens with DOS3.3 and 4.01. If I switch back to 3.1/3.2, then I'd not have any problems at all. I wondered if anyone on the net could provide explanation on this? Since I need DOS3.3 or up to deal with the 70 MB fixed disk, using 3.1/3.2 is only a work- around. BTW, does anyone use the 10MB SyQuest on his/her system? My drive cannot detect that the disk has been changed and thus display information, obviously from the buffer, of the previous disk. If I go to the fixed disk and do something for a little bit then come back to the removable disk, the system would then really read about the new disk and display the correct information. This might be just as simple as setting a jumper or something. I'd appreciate any help in solving these 2 problems. Tim Su att!scobee!tsu
