My brother recently encountered an eight or nine year old system that is apparently not IBM compatible. The system appears to be in good shape, as if you can tell anything by appearances. It has a hard drive in it made by Vertex Peripherals, Inc., of San Jose, Model number V-150. This is a full height 5 1/4 inch drive that looks similar to other hard drives for IBM pc's. Directory assistance has no listing for the company in the San Jose area, so no help there. Does anyone know any info on this drive, such as type (MFM, RLL, SCSI, etc.), number of cylinders, heads, and other such good data? The drive has date stamps (I think) indicating manufacture in '82. Any help would be greatly appreciated. -- Tom Jones | Standard Disclaimers apply, Sverdrup Technology, Inc. | I only speak for myself NASA Lewis Research Center | (EXCEPT when they think that tjones@falcon.lerc.nasa.gov | I've come up with a good idea).
