[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] 256k SIMM's as extended memory

dbraun@i50s7.ira.uka.de (Dieter Braun) (03/07/91)

Problem: I want to have more memory in my AT (286, neat chips, 12MHz)
Resources:	I have a board with 1MB on it which can be upgraded to 4MB by the use of
	 	411000 DRAM's. (I can throw away my 1st MB)
BUT: I have already 4 MB in 256 kByte SIMM's (16 SIMM's, each 256kB)

Question:	Is there any kind of RAM card (or something similar) I can use to plug
my SIMM's in to use it as extended (expanded) memory.

What else can I use my 256kB SIMM's ? Any idea ?

Thanks in advance (for an answer with e-mail)
