I am finding that my 100MB RLL drive is no longer big enough for the files I want to keep on it. Instead of buying a new drive and controller (big bucks), I'm interested in using one of the new real-time data compression boards being advertised. Stax is one of the promising products. But I'm concerned over how reliable and fast it is. I am running and developing lots of MS-Windows stuff. Does anyone have any experience with the Stax compression board/software or similar products? Please reply by mail and I will summarize here. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mark Medici ** Systems Programmer III * Rutgers University Computing Services medici@elbereth.rutgers.edu * medici@cancer.BITNET * !rutgers!elbereth!medici My opinions are not necessarily my employers'. *Reality is context-sensitive.
