I am looking for an EMS card compatible with the IBM PC/XT 8-bit bus. It should be expandable up to at least 8Mb and preferably more. It should support LIM EMS 4.0 or at least something like 3.2. Compatibility sith both the XT 8-bit bus AND the AT 16-bit bus would be nice, if I decide to upgrade some day. I've heard something about an ORCHID board (ORCHID RAMQUEST XT/AT) doing all this, but am not sure, which LIM EMS version (if any) it complies with. In addition, I don't know, if it really fits the PC/XT bus. Naturally, I would like to hear about compatibility and/or problems with this and other EMS cards. Thank you very much in advance mlukka@kannel.lut.fi

In the USA, $450 w/2 MB for the PLUS 8 I/O. It uses 1 MB Drams and holds up to 8 MB. There MAY be a option connector for more memory (card) but I'm not sure. Automated installation no switches, just run a program and tell it what you want or follow it's advice for defaults. Very Nice. The software with the card claims you can only add memory in even multiples (2, 4, 6, 8) but I have several with 3 MB and they work just fine. Even the diagnostics program understands there isn't a even number and doesn't report errors for the 'missing' bank. al -- Al.
