I have a friend that has about $400.00 to upgrade the disk on his IBM PC clone. He currently has a DTC RLL disk controller and a 32 Mbyte NEC disk (non RLL he thinks, but the manufacturer RLL'ed it anyway). Given his current configuration and dollar limit, would he be better off buying another RLL disk for about $400.00 or go the SCSI route (buying for example, a Seagate ST-296 and cheap controller)? If the answer is SCSI, what drive/controller combination do you suggest, and are there compatibility problems between his current DTC RLL controller and SCSI controllers? Thanks (in advance) for your help. Rick Impett (impett@super.org)
