My wife and I are planning a trip to Europe this March and one of the places we are thinking about visiting is the Canary Islands. Has anyone been there? We imagine it to be a semi-tropical island (being close to the equator), but other than that we know nothing. Any comments, advice, etc. would be welcomed. Some friends of mine in the UK used to spend every winter there. Yes it is very warm year round. They also say it is VERY INexpensive to live or vacation there (that is why they went!). John
