Should I buy a 486? I HAVE plenty of money and am sunk in deep with a plethora of DOS applications (so don't tell me to buy a SUN workstation). I use very large spreadsheets needing MORE SPEED! I cannot afford to loose on compatibility, however. Comments anyone? davidh@garfield.cs.mun.ca

I would refer you to 12/25/90 PC Magazine, page 169. To summarize, a 33 MHz 386 gives the best price/performance ratio. However, if your applications require a math coprocessor, the price of the 386 system goes up while the 486 system is constant.
