[comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware] Video system for windows?

jra@lawday.DaytonOh.NCR.COM (John R Ackermann) (03/26/91)

I'm going to be running Windows 3.0 using Ami Professionally and the new
version of Turbo Pascal.

I currently have an STB 8 bit, super VGA card and a Seiko display. The
card handles 800x600 and 1024x768-interlaced. The display is <wonderful>
but it only supports standard VGA or 1024x768-interlaced -- no 800x600.

I'd like to start positioning myself for a Windows world, and am looking
for suggestions on upgrading this system. I can't afford to upgrade the
monitor right now, but it seems that buying a new video card that's
faster and supports both interlaced and non-interlaced 1024x768 might be
a good first step.

Any suggestions?
