I was told that the command DRIVPARM could be used to tell dos to force a directory read on floppy drives that don't (or no longer) register a disk change. I have tried, in my config.sys, the following: drivparm 1 /checkdoor (according to DOS: the complete reference by Kris Jamsa) Dos (4.01) does not recognize this command. (1) How do I force DOS to read a floppy (drive b: a 1.44 MB) if the disk change signal doesn't work? Pertaining to an old PC (1983/84) with a Tecmar I/O/memory card: I cannot seem to get the correct date out of the card with the program IPLDTTM.COM. I also can't configure the board to give me an extra 64K above 640k (which it says it can). (2) Are there newer utilities which will read the clock and update dos correctly (a Tecmar 1st MATE board) or does Tecmar have a BBS number? This PC, which has 256k of ram on the MB and is expanded to 640k, only recognizes 544k. (3) Is there a utility which will bypass the MB dip switch memory settings and tell dos the correct anount of installed memory?
